Thanks to all who purchased our 2012 milker and kids – sold out in 2 days from posting availability!

Kids:

Milkers:

We encourage those who were unable to purchase this year and expressed interest in next year’s ‘crop’ to reserve your kids in advance. We intend selling all bucklings and many of the doelings for 2013. We are excited to see what our Sir Echo foundation herd sire will bring to the excellent genetic core we started with in 2011 and we hope to get his genetics into as many herds as possible to test his potential as a Young Sire. Therefore, we will offer the following discounts on sales:

  1. 5% discount to any ADGA member who is currently in DHIR Milk Testing, or will be in 2013
  2. 5% discount to any ADGA member who is currently in Linear Appraisal, or will be in 2013
  3. 10% discount to any 4-H dairy goat purchase, to encourage dairy goat Youth involvement and promote the Dairy Herd Improvement Performance Program

Milkers will be sold on occasion, however, advance reservations are not possible for these at this time as we wish to see 2-3 months production first.

Please visit our Sales Policy Page for information on placing reservations for kids.

A non-refundable deposit is required on each kid ordered, due within 7 days after a contract (duplicate copies for buyer and seller) is sent to the prospective buyer, to insure reservation of the animal. The signed contract is due back from the buyer within 10 days of mailing by the seller. The amount of the deposit will be dependent on the selling price of the kid, but will be approximately 30% of the purchase price. If the buyer's first choice of breeding is not available, the buyer can make a second choice or will receive a full refund of deposit paid within 7 days of communication to the seller of the prospective buyer's decision. The remainder of the purchase price will be due 10 days after notification of birth, or the contract for purchase is void, and the deposit is forfeited. The animal shall be placed with new owner with an application for registration and transfer of ownership, as responsibility of the new owner. We reserve the right to retain any animal instead of selling it, if the contract is executed prior to the animal's birth. In this case, the buyer may opt for another animal or the deposit will be refunded.

Discounted purchase prices for multiple animals and repeat buyers will be 10%.

Purchase prices include delivery to Sacramento International Airport if an animal is to be shipped by air. All shipping costs are to be paid by the buyer (air freight charges, crate), as well as the cost of any testing, legally required health certificate and related veterinary fees required for interstate shipment. The seller will obtain estimates of the shipping costs from the freight carrier, based on destination of shipping, size of the animal and crate, and will obtain estimate of costs for required veterinary services required for shipment. These costs must be paid in full by the buyer and received by the seller within 7 days of the scheduled shipment or pickup date or the contract is voided and the deposit and purchase price forfeited.

Payment will be accepted by cash, money order, cashier's check, or a cleared check (to clear within the specified times above).

Physical transfer of ownership shall take place by 4 to 6 weeks of age. Health will be guaranteed up to physical transfer of ownership, delivery for air shipment, or pickup by the buyer. Arrangements may be made to delay pickup/shipping of your kid longer than 6 weeks at a boarding cost of $3.00 per day, contingent on an agreement reached between the buyer and CalOak Goats. In this case, an "Agreement of Board and Care" will be signed by both parties and estimated boarding fees paid to the seller within 7 days of boarding start date. During the extended stay past 6 weeks of the kid's age, the new owner will be responsible for any veterinary costs that the animal may require and payment for those costs will be made by the new owner to the attending DVM upon billing by that service. All accounts must be paid in full before the animal leaves the farm.

In order to maintain a manageable herd size, we will periodically offer animals for sale (milkers, bucks, dry yearlings or kids older than 4 weeks) or lease (bucks). Our herd represents solid genetic lineages and we will not sell any animal for breeding purposes that we know to be unfit, in accordance with the ADGA Recommended Trade Practices for Members (ADGA Guidebook, Bylaws Article XIX). CalOak Goats retains the option of purchasing a minimum of 5 straws of semen from any buck that is collected by the new owner, at the going rate per straw paid to the owner by CalOak Goats.
